Information on Midnams....

The previous page contains any .midnam OSX synth patch names that have been sent to me.
Most should work with XP too. If you have done one (or more!) yourself then please email it to me and I will upload it.
Option click to download. Any problems feel free to hassle me - I'm usually a bit slow to reply but I do eventually!

A while back the fellas at MOTU came to the party with a stack of midnams.
HOWEVER: Not all will work straight away with Protools.
There appears to be some compatibility issues between Performer and Protools regarding midnams.
Bearing that in mind, and thanks to Joel, I present, the MOTU midi patch names:

MOTU.sit

Roland owners out there can download this folder to see if there's anything in it you might need.
(big thanks to MOTU and Willie for that one)

Roland also have a Patch Script Builder on their website (login required).

What's a midnam? Well, here's a handy midnam link from Digidesign: tech tips
and for special characters used in xml files (for those keen enough to write their own) take a look at: webmonkey

If you're writing your own midnam , how good is your code? check 'The Parser' for accuracy. (Thanks to Justin for that link)

Most of the patches were written for Protools and should work.
Note: those that have "(DP)" after them have only been tested in Digital Performer v.4 or 5 and therefore may or may not work with ProTools.
Please refer to the DUC for more info (search for midnam). There are also many more resources appearing on the web.
Happy hunting _ Andrew
